Predator (1987)

1) An attempt was made to get shots of the Predator swinging from tree to tree using a monkey in a red special-effects suit. However, the monkey kept removing the suit and the idea was abandoned.

2) The mandibles of the predator were the idea of James Cameron.

1) This was the first film to be given the newly instituted NC-17 rating in the US for its graphic violence before it was re-cut to its final theatrical length.

2) The film was re-cut over 20 times, according to director Stephen Hopkins, because of more graphic shots of mutilated bodies and decapitations by the Predator.

3) The gunfight in East LA was shot in three long days with the exception of the interiors of the building which was shot on the Fox lot.

2) Except for scenes with stand-ins, Ian Whyte played all of the Predators. He was the first Predator actor since Kevin Peter Hall who died in 1991.

AVPR: Aliens vs Predator – Requiem (2007)

Predators (2010)

1) While often erroneously referred to as being a remake of the Predator series, the film is instead meant to be a sequel to Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990) while ignoring the events of the Alien vs Predator films.

2) The film was shot in 53 days.

3) Neil Marshall, Michael J. Bassett, Bill Duke, Marcus Nispel, Peter Berg and Darren Lynn Bousman were considered to direct the film. In the end, Nimród Antal was hired because Robert Rodriguez enjoyed Antal’s earlier films Control (2003) and Vacancy (2007).
